Hi! I’m Kelly-Anne, the face behind Dirigo & Dogwood. I bought my first home 14 years ago as a young, single teacher. Each room needed a major facelift so I found myself wanting to renovate the property but needing to do so on a tight budget. Not knowing where to start, I created ‘vision boards’ in a three-ring binder for each room to help focus my ideas and turn them into reality. From that point on, I was hooked on houses and have gone on to renovate and decorate many more properties. My vision boards have since turned into digital mood boards and as each home has gotten some TLC, I’ve loved the satisfaction that comes with creating beautiful, comfortable spaces.
After a marriage, a move, and a baby, I’m no longer teaching but I still have a passion for giving uninspired spaces new life. I’m so excited to be offering virtual interior decor services so others can feel empowered to create spaces in their homes that are beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming.
Why the name? Dirigo (deer-ih-go) means “I lead” and is the state motto of Maine and dogwood is the state flower of Virginia. The name seemed fitting for this Mainer now living in Virginia who hopes to lead you in your journey to a beautiful home!
